Dr. Jacobs graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Indiana University in 1976, with a double major in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Jacobs developed his interest in Dentistry early on. His father, Dr. Robert Jacobs was a general dentist, and his mentor. He earned his Dental Doctorate from Fairleigh Dickenson University in 1979. Dr. Jacobs continued his studies at the University of Pennsylvania where in 1981, he received his Certificate in Periodontics. Immediately after completing his post-graduate studies, Dr. Jacobs was appointed as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Periodontology at the University of Pennsylvania.
