Dr. James D. Fortenberry MD, FCCM, FAAP is a pediatric intensivist and Director of the Critical Care Division at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, ase well as Director of Pediatric ECMO and Advanced Technologies.
He also serves as System Medical Director for Clinical Research for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. He is involved in clinical and translational research of extracorporeal support for children, continuous renal replacement therapies and plasma exchange. He leads a group of 13 pediatric centers examining the clinical course of children with thrombocytopenia-associated multiple organ failure (TAMOF) and effects of plasma exchange in these patients.
