James C. Kennedy

Prof James Kennedy as the new Dean of University College Utrecht (UCU). He will succeed Prof Rob van der Vaart, who became head of UCU in 2008. James Kennedy is currently Professor of Dutch History since the Middle Ages at the University of Amsterdam. University College Utrecht is proud to announce the new UCU Dean: James Kennedy, currently employed at the University of Amsterdam, will succeed current Dean Rob van der Vaart in October 2015.
He was Professor of European History at the A.C. Van Raalte Institute at Hope College in Holland (Michigan, USA) between 1997 and 2003. Since 2007, Kennedy has been a professor at the University of Amsterdam, where his work included research into how new groups of citizens and new inhabitants of the Netherlands have been treated since the Second World War. Kennedy has been very successful in obtaining substantial research grants from organisations such as the NWO (Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research) in recent years.
