Dr. Bonaparte, originally from Nova Scotia, completed his undergraduate and Master's degrees in Kinesiology and Biomedical Engineering at Dalhousie University. During this time he also worked as a full-time musician and artist in Halifax. In 2003 he decided to enter a career in medicine. After finishing his medical school at Dalhousie University, he entered a five-year residency training program in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Ottawa. During this time he was fortunate to be awarded the Poliquin Residents Research Award, given to the top resident researcher in Canada.

Dr. Bonaparte’s success in residency, as well as his talent in art, served him well as he was accepted into a prestigious fellowship at the University of Toronto. In 2012-2013 Dr. Bonaparte completed this fellowship certified with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. David Ellis. He had a very successful year in Toronto and was privileged to be awarded the prestigious Kris Conrad Merit Award in Facial Plastic Surgery, a prize given annually to exceptional young surgeons who have distinguished themselves by achieving the highest level of expertise in the performance of facial plastic surgery.

Currently, Dr. Bonaparte has joined the staff at the Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Center of Ottawa. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Bonaparte continues to conduct cutting-edge research and perform teaching duties to surgical residents.

Currently, he specializes in Head and Neck Surgery, rhinoplasty, treatment of skin cancer and other skin lesions, Facelifts, fillers, cosmetic surgery of the face as well as general Head and Neck surgery. He has operating room privileges at The Ottawa Hospital (General Hospital, Civic Hospital, and Riverside Hospital), The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), and Carleton Place Hospital.
