James Bennett-Levy, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and Professor of Mental Health and Well being at University of Sydney. His first training in compassion-based approaches was in Paul Gilbert’s compassion focused therapy in 2005. He did his first Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) training in 2012. He has been teaching both MSC and compassion focused therapy since 2014. Alongside his enthusiasm for compassion-based approaches to mental health and well being, James has co-authored a number of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) books, including CBT from the Inside Out: A Self-Practice/Self-Reflection Workbook for Therapists (2015), and the Oxford Guide to Imagery in Cognitive Therapy (2011). James is also one of the founders of Compassionate Mind Australia
