Jake Goodman MD, MBA

Jake Goodman, MD, MBA, is a California-based psychiatrist, mental health activist, and medical educator. He began sharing his journey in medical school to reduce stigma and bring transparency to the path of becoming a physician. Along the way, his content struck a chord—with nearly 1 billion views across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook, he has become one of the most followed mental health educators online. After completing his psychiatry residency at the University of Miami, he launched Goodman Psychiatry—an integrative mental health clinic focused on personalized, whole-person care. He is especially passionate about using his platform to advocate for physician mental health and combat misinformation in the mental health space.

Goodman earned his M.D. from Thomas Jefferson University and holds both a B.S. and an MBA from the University of Georgia. He has given two TEDx talks, was named one of UGA’s “40 Under 40,” and participated in the White House’s Healthcare Leaders in Social Media Roundtable under former Vice President Kamala Harris, contributing to the launch of the National 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. In 2023, he was named a Men’s Health Approved Influencer, and in 2024, MedPage Today recognized him as one of the “Top 10 Psychiatrists Taking Over Social Media.” He serves as Vice President of the United Brain Association and as a board member for the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes Foundation. He is also the author of Psychiatry for Kids, an Amazon Best Seller designed to help children understand and talk about mental health.
