Jacques Cadranel is a Professor of Pneumology at Paris 6 University and a Hospital Practitioner at AP-HP. He is Head of the Department of Pneumology of the Hospital Group University Hospitals of Eastern Paris, head of the Expert Center for Thoracic Oncology and the Constitutive Center for Rare Lung Diseases – OrphaLung group, at Tenon Hospital. He is also the director of the GRC-04 THERANOSCAN at the P & M Curie University, Paris 6.
He is the principal investigator of numerous academic and industrial therapeutic trials involving rare lung tumors and HIV-infected patients or the use of targeted therapeutics and immunotherapy in thoracic oncology. In 2005 and 2009, he was the national coordinator of two Program of Medical-Economic Research (formerly STIC) on behalf of the French Intergroup of Thoracic Oncology which allowed to set up in France the routine research of the EGFR and KRAS mutations and ALK rearrangement in the advanced lung adenocarcinomas, first step to the development of precision medicine.
He is a member of the IASLC and of the ERS and a leader of the thoracic oncology assembly. The specificities of the Rare Lung Diseases center are the management of alveolar hemorrhage, pulmonary connective tissue disease, iatrogenic pulmonary involvement, and pulmonary lymphoma.
