Jacques Busquet, MD, is currently the coordinator of vascular and endovascular service in the cardio-vascular department of the Clinique Chirurgicale Val d’Or – Saint Cloud, a prestigious private hospital in Paris, France, part of the Vivalto Foundation Group.

He completed medical school, a four-year internship in surgery, and a six-year residency in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at the University of Bordeaux, France. In 1983, he also completed a cardiovascular research fellowship at the Brompton Hospital, University of London, UK, after winning the research award of the French Society of Cardiology.

In 1988, he sets up one of the first endovascular programs in France using peripheral angioplasty and stents, after several post-residency pieces of training in the USA (Los Angeles, Phoenix, New Orleans). Since this time, he is actively involved as a speaker, moderator, or scientific committee member of the major international vascular and endovascular meetings (Arizona Heart, Charing Cross, CEC, CICE, CIT, EuroPCR, Ochsner, Mayo, SITE, TCT, VEITH, VERVE, VIVA). In November 2010, he received the international vascular award “Pioneer in Performance” in New York City during Veith Symposium.

Dr. Busquet is a co-founder in 1992, executive board member, and former chairman of the international council of the International Society of Endovascular Specialists (ISEVS), a medical society having 1600 members and represented in 60 countries. He has been President of the Society from February 2011 to February 2013, succeeding Professor Christopher Zarins from Stanford University, and has the current position of ISEVS International Ambassador.

He is also president of the Val d’Or Vascular Association, a french non-profit organization dedicated to research and development in cardiovascular medicine. Since 2006, under its auspices, he organizes annually in Paris a successful vascular meeting on vascular diseases, cardio-vascular imaging, and endovascular technologies open to cardio-vascular specialists.

Dr. Busquet is a member of the French Society of Vascular Surgery and a former elected board member from 2001 to 2008. He also serves as an editorial board member in the Journal of Endovascular Therapy (USA), the Endovascular Today Magazine (USA), the Endovascular Today Magazine – Europe (USA), and Tecnicas Endovasculares (Spain).
