Jaclyn Kovach, M.D., is an accomplished clinician, researcher, and educator who has published over 100 book chapters and peer-reviewed articles and has presented her impactful research on the genetics of age-related macular degeneration and retinal imaging in over 150 lectures around the world. She is the founder of a clinical trial center, a medical retinal fellowship, and a retina case conference. A role model and influential mentor, she created Luminaries: Profiles of Women in Academic Medicine, a book of autobiographic vignettes written by 24 colleagues to inspire the next generation of women physicians/scientists. She is the recipient of numerous awards including a Castle Connolly Exceptional Women in Medicine Award, America’s Most Honored Doctors, an American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award, and a Fellow of the American Society of Retina Specialists Award. She has also held leadership positions at the AAO, ASRS, and the American Board of Ophthalmology.
