Jack Castelli PhD

Jack Castelli is a postdoctoral scholar in Stem Cell Transplantation at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he conducts research in gene editing, hematopoietic stem cell engineering, and CRISPR-based therapeutic technologies under the mentorship of Matthew Porteus. He earned his PhD in Molecular Medicine and Mechanisms of Disease from the University of Washington and previously completed his undergraduate studies in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Toronto.

His research focuses on developing non-viral gene editing strategies for hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, with applications in immunotherapy and regenerative medicine. Castelli has contributed to advances in CRISPR nanoparticle delivery systems, genome engineering technologies, and functional genomics, co-authoring publications in journals including Science, Nature Communications, and Molecular Therapy. His work aims to improve the safety, accessibility, and long-term efficacy of next-generation gene therapies for chronic and genetic diseases.
