Dr. Bert has taught multiple academic courses for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and for the 6,000 members Arthroscopy Association of North America where he previously served as President. He is a Master Instructor of arthroscopy of the knee and teaches laboratory courses on surgical techniques for knee injuries and diseases at the Orthopedic Learning Center for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons in Chicago where he previously served on its Board of Directors.
Dr. Bert is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and lectures on the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee over 20 times/year. He has given grand rounds at Yale University, Loyola University, the University of Connecticut, Emory University, Rush University, Tulane University, Temple University, University of Colorado, and the University of Pennsylvania, NYU in New York.
Internationally, he has spoken at the University of Western Australia, the University of India in Mumbai, Beijing University in China, the University of Thailand in Bangkok, the University of Italy in Milan and Bologna, Cuba University in Havana, the University of Hamburg in Germany, the Spanish Orthopedic Society in Barcelona, the Chilean Orthopedic Society in La Serena, the Peruvian Orthopedic Society in Lima, the South African Orthopedic Society in Capetown, and the University of Austria in Vienna. He serves on the Board of Directors of the retired NFL Player’s Association and is a consultant to multiple orthopedic companies. Dr. Bert has been named as a Top Doctor by the International Association of Orthopedic Surgeons in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2016. He is a member of multiple orthopedic societies and is a section editor of Orthopedics today.
