Dr. Ziffer is executive vice president and chief medical officer for Baptist Health South Florida, with responsibility for all strategic, operational and policy matters for Baptist Health’s physician initiatives and enterprises. A luminary physician leader, Dr. Ziffer spearheads the overall strategy and vision for Baptist Health Medical Group, a multispecialty network of more than 160 employed physicians and 600 employees, and Baptist Health Quality Network, a clinically integrated network of more than 700 community physicians throughout the region. His focus is on coordinating the physician efforts to achieve the most cost-effective and highest-quality healthcare for the patients served by Baptist Health. Related areas of responsibility include Baptist Health’s eICU LifeGuard program, Home Healthcare, Medical Staff Services, the Transfer and Transport Center and the Follow-up Care program.

Dr. Ziffer was the founding leader of Baptist Health Medical Group and the entity’s first chief executive officer. Under his leadership, Baptist Health Medical Group tripled in size, attracting world-class physicians throughout the nation to provide a broad base of patient care, including primary care, cardiac and thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics and sports medicine, general surgery, gastroenterology, cardiology and hospital medicine.
