Jacinta Cannon

Starting out as a nursing student in 1985 at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, working in the NHS for 20 years, developing from staff nurse to Planning and Performance Manager. Becoming the Director of Clinical Services at Jospice, St Joseph’s Hospice Liverpool for 12 years. This was the first hospice in the country to be accredited by Gold Standards Framework, gaining Beacon status within the Hospice Care Program in 2014.

End of life care is my passion; care cannot be given in just one place, but an individual will experience this journey only once, wherever they are; they and their families deserve the highest quality of care. This happens if staff across all sectors are trained, and have the opportunity to develop confidence with their knowledge and skills.
