Jaana (autio) Tuulikki Gold DDS, PhD, MPH, CPH

Dr. Gold is a Professor in the College of Graduate Health Studies at the A.T. Still University, MPH dental program. She is also an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, in the Department of Community Dentistry and Behavioral Sciences. She is dental consultant for the Florida Department of Health.

Dr. Gold received her DDS degree from the University of Oulu, Finland in 1992, a PhD degree in Cariology and Preventive Dentistry in 2005 and MPH degree from University of Florida in 2015. She is certified in public health. She completed Dental Public Health Residency program at NYU in 2019. She has over 25 years of experience in teaching, research and practice in dentistry.

Her research has focused in the area of caries prevention, dental education and dental public health. She has published original research on different prevention modalities, such as fluoride varnishes and Silver Diamine Fluoride to prevent dental caries in vulnerable populations, and has served as a consultant for health departments, organizations, and researchers nationally and internationally. She has presented in several international and national conferences.

Her duties at A T Still University include teaching in the MPH dental emphasis online program. She is also serving as a research mentor for dental public health residents. She serves in several CGHS committees; Faculty Council, Research and Curriculum Committees. She teaches evidence-based dentistry at UFCD.

She is a member of several dental organizations, and has served in leadership roles such as a Chair for the Fellowship Committee of the AADR, Secretary/Treasurer for the Cariology Group of IADR, central CAMBRA coalition. She is currently a Chair of the AAPHD Education Council and Chair of the APHA Oral Health Section Program and a Section Councilor. She serves in the Oral Health Florida Policy Committee.
