J. N. Kobus Eloff BSc, MSc, PhD, DSc

Prof. JN (Kobus) Eloff is the founder of the interdisciplinary Phytomedicine Programme, Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Pretoria He was or is currently serving as editor or is on the editorial board of the following journals: SA Journal of Botany, SA Tydskrif vir Natuurwetenskap en Tegnologie, International Journal for Phytomedicine, BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine. He has reviewed manuscripts for 280 different scientific journals. He has presented 217 international presentations. He has published 290 scientific publications. He has received the following awards: International Horticultural Society Bronze medal, SA Association of Botanists Silver and Gold medal and honorary Life Membership, SA Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns Havenga medal, Gold medal and MT Steyn Prize, National Science and Technology Forum Eskom Prize for capacity development and Academy for Science of South Africa (ASSAf) Gold medal. His personal profile is included in a book published by ASSAf entitled “Legends of South African Science” with 52 other scientists from natural and social sciences.
