Dr. Brubaker, board certified in family medicine, completed a post graduate fellowship at the Philadelphia Geriatric Center, and has a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics. He graduated from Hahneman University and completed his family medicine residency program at Lancaster General Health. Dr. Brubaker was in private practice from 1973 until joining the fellowship faculty in 2001. Clinical interests include assessing decision-making ability of patients with dementia.

In collaboration with the Masonic Village, he has developed a decision-making tool that is used within the nursing home setting. He also has developed significant expertise serving as a medical director of nursing facilities. He currently serves as Chief Medical Director of the Pennsylvania Department of Aging Office of Long-Term Living. He also is serves on the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA) Board of Directors, and was voted as AMDA’s “Medical Director of the Year” in 2008.
