Dr. Ivane Chkhaidze, MD, PhD, DMSc, is a distinguished Professor of Pediatrics, pediatrician, and medical leader with extensive experience in child health, respiratory medicine, and clinical research. He serves as the Medical Director of M. Iashvili Children’s Central Hospital in Tbilisi, Georgia, one of the country’s leading pediatric healthcare institutions, and is affiliated with Vian Health as a pediatric medicine specialist.
Dr. Chkhaidze is also Head of the Pediatrics Department at Tbilisi State Medical University, where he contributes to medical education and mentors future pediatricians. In his leadership roles, he has overseen clinical services and quality improvement in pediatric healthcare and has played a key role in national pediatric health initiatives.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Chkhaidze holds prominent positions in professional medical organizations: he chairs the Pediatric Council within the VIAN network and has served as an expert to the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia. He is active in national and international scientific communities related to pediatrics and respiratory medicine, including editorial roles in medical journals and membership in professional societies.
A prolific academic, Dr. Chkhaidze has published hundreds of scientific works, book chapters, and research articles, contributing to the advancement of pediatric and respiratory health knowledge. His research and clinical expertise encompass pediatric respiratory infections, immunization guidance, and child health policy. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Georgian National Prize in Medicine.
