Ivan O. Rosas MD

Dr. Ivan Rosas is a Professor and Section Chief in the Department of Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Rosas’ main clinical research interest is to determine the natural history of early stages of pulmonary fibrosis in susceptible cohorts. Through extensive phenotyping of patients affected with sporadic Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), kindred members affected with Familial Pulmonary Fibrosis (FPF), and rheumatoid arthritis patients affected with secondary pulmonary fibrosis, his research has shown that early pulmonary fibrosis can be readily detected in populations at risk. More recently his research has focused on the incidence of early interstitial lung disease in smokers.
