Dr. Isabel Oliva is a board-certified radiologist with a special interest in improving patient care and safety in all aspects of lung and cardiovascular imaging. She joined the University of Arizona after working as an assistant professor at Yale University for three years.
Together with cardiothoracic imaging colleagues and other specialists, including thoracic oncologists, thoracic surgeons, and pathologists, Dr. Oliva focuses on detecting early stages of lung cancer using ultra-low dose CT imaging with the goal of prolonging patient survival and quality of life. She also collaborates with the pulmonary division in growing the interstitial lung disease and COPD groups, and with cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons to improve the imaging of cardiovascular diseases.
