Isabeau Walker BSc, MB BChir, FRCA

Dr Walker received her undergraduate training at King’s College, University of London, and the University of Cambridge. She completed registrar training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, and was a senior registrar at St Thomas’ Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Dr Walker is an elected member of Council of the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (AABGI), and the Honorary Membership Secretary of the AAGBI. She is a member of the Safe Anaesthesia Liaison Group, the aim of which is to share learning nationally from incidents reported to the National Reporting and Learning Service. As a member of the International Relations Committee of the AAGBI she has developed training courses in anaesthesia in low-income countries.

Dr Walker is chair of the Publications Committee and a member of the Executive of the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists. She is on the Board of Lifebox, a charity to lead the introduction of oximetry and safer surgery to low- and middle-income countries. She is a member of the editorial advisory board of Paediatric Anaesthesia and the editorial board for Update in Anaesthesia and Anaesthesia Tutorial of the Week.
