Iris Zalaudek is a Board-certified Dermatologist and Associate Professor at the Division of Dermatology of the Medical University of Graz; Austria. Her main research fields are dermato-oncology and in particular, dermoscopy, neogenesis, melanoma, and non-melanoma skin cancer. She has authored more than 150 scientific articles in international peer-review journals. Her combined publications have received an h-index value of 20 (November 2011). She frequently lectures on these topics nationally and internationally. In 2003 her work was awarded by the Hans-Weitgasser Price from the Styrian Association of Dermatologists and in 2008 she was awarded the Best Researcher of the Medical University of Graz, Austria.
Dr. Zalaudek was invited to the Dermatology Department of Second University of Naples, Italy as Research Fellow (2004 to 2006) to work in several areas of skin cancer screening and as a scientific consultant at the Melanoma Unit of the Dermato-Oncology Department of the San Gallicano Institute in Rome, Italy (2009 to 2011) and at the Dermatology Unit of the Arcispedale Santa Maria Nuova - IRCCS in Reggio Emilia, Italy (2011 to actual). Dr. Zalaudek is the General Secretary of the International Dermoscopy Society and director of the Master of Science in Dermoscopy and Dermato-oncology of the Medical University of Graz, Austria.
