Dr. Iradj Sobhani is a Specialist Consultant at Mayo Clinic. He’s a specialist in gastrointestinal tract diseases, head of GI Oncology in the Gastroenterology department at Henri Mondor Hospital in Créteil, and a consultant for scientific advisory of testing and pharmaceutical companies and reviewer for several medical journals. He’s the Director of the interdisciplinary research team Macbeth-EC2M3 (Microbiota and early colon cancer detection by using multimodal molecular markers). He has been head of GIT research at INSERM at Bichat Hospital, Consultant for a regional insurance health company, and President of the mass screening program in the Val de Marne (94) region.
His research interests lie with the environment- cancer and application areas are diagnosis, screening, and prognosis. His publications exceed 200, including refereed archival papers, full-length proceeding papers, and technical reports. Professor Sobhani received, in October 2011, one of the best five research awards of the European Society of Gastroenterology at Stockholm for his experimental work on precancerous induced lesions in animals by transferring fresh stools from colon cancer patients. He was co-awarded by the Ministry of Industry and Research for innovative programs for industrial development, “emergence” in 2010, and “creation” in 2011. He is the inventor or co-inventor of 5 patents and is currently the head of the endoscopy and inpatient department of gastrointestinal diseases at Henri Mondor Hospital.
