Ira Cheifetz, MD is the Division Chief for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Critical Care and Associate Chief Quality Officer for Patient Safety at UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and KeyBank-Meyer Family Chair and Professor of Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Cheifetz is a pediatric cardiac intensivist with focused expertise in congenital and pediatric-acquired heart disease, postoperative cardiac care, cardiorespiratory interactions, mechanical ventilation, and extracorporeal life support. He is also an active clinical and translational NIH-funded researcher who has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and chapters, and presented at numerous national and international scientific symposia.
