Dr. Iqbal Rashid was born in Karachi, Pakistan and spent his early childhood in different parts of the world.He spent 6 years in Kano, Nigeria and 2 years in Luxembourg before returning to Pakistan to complete his O' Levels, A' Levels and medical school. After completing his medical school, Dr. Rashid moved to the US to participate in general pediatrics residency. He completed his general pediatrics residency at Schneider Children's Hospital (now Cohen Children's Hospital) in 2007. He subsequently relocated to Southwestern Arizona to work in a critical access hospital where he practiced general pediatrics for 4 years. During this time he was part of the leadership team of the hospital and was elected to be the Vice Chief of Staff and briefly also served as the Chief of Staff of the Hospital.
In 2011, he decided to move to Madison, Wisconsin to pursue pediatric pulmonology fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. He was in fellowship from 2011 to 2014 and after completion worked as faculty briefly, before participating in an additional year of training in sleep medicine.Dr. Rashid’s area of expertise includes sleep disordered breathing, snoring, central and/or obstructive sleep apnea; obesity-hypoventilation / Pickwickian syndrome; narcolepsy; insomnia; night terrors; nightmares; restless leg syndrome / nighttime movement disorders; circadian rhythm disorders; CPAP or BIPAP management and neuromuscular disease related hypoventilation syndrome.
