Dr Iqbal Malik qualified from Cambridge University, then Guys Hospital, London. He was appointed as a consultant interventional cardiologist in 2003. He is the director for clinical governance for the surgery, cancer and cardiovascular division at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Dr Malik has a special interest in coronary artery disease and runs the heart attack center at the Trust. He also runs the transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) program at Imperial simulation training to help develop patient safety. Through his research work he has been involved in developing a novel concept (iFR) that is now widely used.
