Ingeborg Friehs MD

Dr. Ingeborg Friehs is an Instructor in Surgery at the Harvard Medical School. As a trained general/cardiovascular surgeon with several years of clinical experience and formal research training, she has combined her expertise to design and perform research projects representing a link between basic science and clinical medicine and she has been successfully supported through extramural funding during her tenure at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. She focuses on translational and clinical research topics investigating novel therapeutic approaches applicable to congenital heart disease with the goal of introduction into clinical practice. For over 10 years, she has led her own research team and the list of her trainees attests to the academic success following their training under her supervision.
