Indu Nambiar is a BHSc (Bachelor of Home science with majors in Nutrition) graduate from Nirmala Niketan College of Home Science, Mumbai University. She completed Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics from Dadar Catering College, Delhi University. She started her career in 2002 as an Intern Dietician at Nair hospital for a year and was involved in planning diets according to patient requirements and diseases. She continued to practice as Chief Dietician in a renowned weight loss clinic for 3 years. In 2006, Indu joined Novartis India Limited in the capacity of Associate – Drug Safety and Epidemiology and was associated for the next 5 years.
In 2011, Indu joined Boehringer Ingelheim as Clinical Safety Officer and in 2012 was designated as Clinical Safety Manager. In 2013 was made the Senior Manager for Local PV and is responsible for India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan. She currently heads the PV department in Boehringer Ingelheim, India.
Indu is a member of the Indian Dietetic Association and a Registered Dietician. She is a lifetime member of the Indian Society for Clinical Research (ISCR). She was appointed as the Co-Chair for PV Council within ISCR during the inception of this council in 2015 for a tenure of 2 years. She was re-elected as the Co-Chair for the year 2017 – 2019. Indu has been a resource person in several national and international forums. She has contributed to articles in some local journals and Pharma magazines. She is the co-ordinator of ISCR for the PV council and conducts PV certificate courses in colleges and have successfully concluded 3 such courses.
