Dr. Indra Das is an internationally acclaimed Medical Physicist with expertise in radiation dosimetry, dose calculation, dose specification, small field dosimetry, treatment planning, nanoparticles, MR-linac, and proton beam therapy. He was born in a tiny village in India near the Nepal border. He received his BSc, & MSc degrees from Gorakhpur University followed by Dip. Radiological Physics (DRP) from Bombay University while being trained at Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Bombay, India. He emigrated to the US and earned his MS in Medical Physics from the University of Wisconsin Madison (1984) and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis (1988).

Dr. Das has worked in major academic centers; the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Fox Chase Cancer Center, University of Pennsylvania, Indiana University School of Medicine, and NYU Medical Center. He is a fellow of many societies such as FIPEM (UK), FAAPM, FACP, FACR, and FASTRO. He is also a recipient of the Farrington Daniels award of the AAPM (1988) and the Dr. Ramaiah Naidu Award for lifetime achievement, AMPI in 2015 along with many other accolades.
