Ilir Beqaj

Ilir Beqaj has an extended experience of about 15 years in the public sector with main focus on Information and Communication Technology but in top management as well. The fields of experience cover public finance, budget management, treasury, social insurance, health insurance, foreign aid management, ect. Since 2007, Ilir Beqaj is active in Albanian politics. He is currently on the third parliamentary mandate. From September 2013 till March 2017 he has served as Minister of Health of Albania. During this period Albanian public health care passed under substantial changes regarding drugs pricing, tobacco control, deployment of public – private partnerships in core and non-core services, etc. Transforming changes happened as well with the introduction and deployment of e-health mainly in the primary health care. Due to this transformation it is reduced significantly the paper work burden to doctors and nurses and people has reduced significantly as well the time used for queuing is crowed premises.
