Ilias Athanasiadis MD

Dr. Ilias Athanasiadis has developed the Department of Medical Oncology in Mitera Hospital, part of Hygeia-Polis, since 2011. His clinical and scientific work involves an extremely active outpatient clinic, a heavy burden in patient flow as well as participation in multiple clinical trials. A major endeavor has been the development of Multidisciplinary Care principles, which culminated in weekly tumor board conferences involving physicians of various specialties from hospitals around Athens, widely recognized as a major contribution to multidisciplinary oncology care. For three consecutive years, 2009-2011, he organized the oncology Conference “Cancer Forum” with international participation and Panhellenic attendance (Multidisciplinary Care Discussions in Oncology) in the last years since November 2012 with the participation of more than 200 attendants of various specialties representing all major oncology hospitals in Greece.
