Igor Sibon, MD Ph.D., born in Périgueux, is a Professor of Neurology at the University of Bordeaux and a Hospital Practitioner at the Center Hospitalier Universitaire de Bordeaux (CHU de Bordeaux). He was trained at Bordeaux University Hospital from 1995 to 2000, obtained a doctorate in Neurology in 2000, and a doctorate in Biological and Medical Sciences in 2004. Then, he worked as a university researcher at McGill University in Montreal (Quebec Canada) from 2004 to 2006 and became a Professor of Neurology in 2009. He heads the Neurovascular Unit at Bordeaux University Hospital. He is also co-director of the " Human Cognition and Neuroimaging " team at the Institute of Cognitive and Integrative Neurosciences of Aquitaine (INCIA), UMR CNRS-University of Bordeaux 5287. He is a member of the steering committee of theTRAIL Laboratory of Excellence (ANR-10-LabEx 057), a member of the French network Stroke Avenir and a member of the scientific committee of the French Neurovascular Society.
