Igor Danelisen MD, PhD

Dr. Danelisen was born in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the same city, he completed his medical school training at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Banja Luka in 1994. After his clinical training, Dr. Danelisen pursued his interest in medical research and academia. In 1998, he joined the laboratory of Dr. Pawan K. Singal at the prestigious Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, St Boniface General Hospital Research Center, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He obtained his Master of Science Degree at the Department of Physiology, University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In 2005 he successfully defended his Doctor of Philosophy thesis titled “Involvement of retinoic acid in adriamycin-induced cardiomyopathy”. After his academic training, Dr. Danelisen has focused his interest on teaching in medical school setting.
