Dr. Amat Santos obtained his Bachelor of Medicine in 2006 and completed his residency in cardiology at the University Clinical Hospital of Valladolid. He was also trained in statistics and applied to research at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He completed a two-year fellowship in interventional cardiology divided into a first year at the Instituto de Ciencias del Corazón (Valladolid, Spain) and a second year at the Quebec Heart & Lung Institute (Quebec, Canada). In 2015, Dr. Amat Santos was awarded PhD cum laude in medicine from the University of Valladolid, followed by a master’s in clinical management from King Juan Carlos University in 2016.

Dr Amat Santos is the director of cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology at Hospital Clínico Valladolid. He has clinical and research experience in the percutaneous treatment of coronary and structural heart disease. He is also experienced in clinical cardiology, functional tests, and echocardiography. Dr. Amat Santos applied V-WAVE, a device to treat heart failure, for the first time in Europe in his hospital. His scientific activity has given rise to the publication of more than 40 articles and more than a hundred communications in national and international congresses
