Prof. Ibrahim Yakoub-Agha has served as Head of the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Unit at Lille University Hospital since 2008. Upon completion of his Ph.D. degree in 2007 at Lille University Hospital, he was appointed Professor of Hematology and currently holds the position of coordinating professor for the Department of Hematology at Lille Faculty of Medicine. He is also Editor in Chief of Current Research in Translational Medicine, has authored or co-authored more than 240 scientific articles in the field of allogeneic stem cell transplantation with a focus on studies concerning patients with myelodysplastic syndrome and multiple myeloma, and has written several chapters for referential textbooks.

Prof. Yakoub-Agha completed his four-year residency in Medical Biology at Brest University Hospital (1986-1990) followed by a two-year fellowship in Clinical Hematology at the University of Paris VI (1990-1992). In 1995 he obtained a Specialized University Diploma in Oncology at the University of Paris XI/Institut Gustave Roussy before going on to complete a two-year fellowship in Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation at the Saint-Louis University Hospital in Paris from 1996 to 1998.
