Ian Neel MD

Ian C. Neel, MD is a board-certified internal medicine doctor who specializes in caring for older adults. He serves as medical director of the Geriatric Medicine Consult Service at Senior Behavioral Health at UC San Diego Health.

Dr. Neel completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine and a residency in internal medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he also earned his medical degree. He is board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine.

In 2013, Dr. Neel received the Arnold P. Gold Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award for an outstanding resident role model. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the American Geriatrics Society. He is also an active alumni member of the San Diego chapter of the Mortar Board.
