Ian Mckay DPhil, PhD

Ian McKay is Innovation Lead Advanced Therapies at Innovate UK. He previously worked at the Genomics Science and Emerging Technology team at the Department of Health with a specific remit for stem cells and regenerative medicine in December 2014. He left a position at the British Dental Association where he was a Health and Science Policy Advisor.

Before moving into health policy Ian had spent 16 years as a lecturer in cell and molecular biology at Queen Mary, University of London. He has a PhD in Developmental Biology and also worked as a post-doc in the MRC Developmental Neurobiology Laboratory at King’s College.
