Professor Ian M. Gralnek, MD, MSHS, FASGE is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. He is also a senior physician in the Department of Gastroenterology at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel where he also heads the GI Outcomes Unit. Professor Gralnek is also the Chief of Hospital-Wide Ambulatory Care Services, at Rambam Medical Center. In 1989, Professor Gralnek received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota. He served his internship and residency in internal medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis where he also served as Chief Resident. Professor Gralnek completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Center for the Health Sciences in 1996. After receiving his Masters's degree in Health Services from the UCLA School of Public Health also in 1996, he completed a fellowship in health services research through UCLA, RAND & the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Professor Gralnek’s clinical and research interests have focused on endoscopic management of GI bleeding, capsule endoscopy, technology assessment of endoscopic devices, and measuring health-related quality of life in individuals with chronic gastroenterology and hepatic diseases. Professor Gralnek is currently a counselor on the governing board of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). He is the past chair of both the International Committee and the Research Committee for the ASGE. Professor Gralnek also is a member of the governing council of the Israel Gastroenterology Association, a member of the European Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) Research and Education Committees, and the Senior Associate Editor for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Professor Gralnek currently serves on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Gastroenterology, Gastroenterology and Hepatology Research, and Gastroenterohepatology
