Dr. Ian Armstrong is a consultant nuclear medicine physicist at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. He has 16 years’ experience in nuclear medicine, with interests in SPECT and PET where he focuses on image optimization and quantification. Ian completed his PhD in 2016, which studies the impact of advanced PET reconstruction algorithms in FDG PET scans.

Ian is co-chair of the BNMS Scientific and Education Committee and a member of the ASNC Technology Committee. Ian is interested in teaching and has lectured at various universities for the past 13 years. He currently delivers approximately 40 hours of university lecturing each year. Ian also does tutoring and training to various trainee staff groups, both within the department and from external hospitals.
