Ian Catchpole, Senior Investigator Senior Investigator BioPharm Innovation, GlaxoSmithKline Dr Ian Catchpole has over 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry at GSK and legacy companies after spells at the Karolinska Institute and Oxford University. He originally trained as a molecular biologist moving on to the generation of transgenic mouse models, gene therapy and DNA vaccine approaches. For the last 10 years or so, he has been focussed on novel delivery systems for biologics and for the last 7 years has been focussed on this approach for ophthalmic disorders. He has been working on the challenges of generating a long term antiVEGF for less frequent administration into the vitreous.
