Hunter W. Jamerson JD, MBA

Dr. Hunter W. Jamerson, JD, MBA has been named VAFP General Counsel. Hunter is a partner in the Richmond based health care law firm Macaulay & Jamerson, P.C. Hunter has astutely served the VAFP as Legislative Consultant for the last six years and will continue that role in addition to the role of VAFP General Counsel. Hunter’s legal practice is primarily focused on the representation of health care providers. His knowledge of the health care sector and relationships throughout Virginia allow him to help clients resolve a broad range of legal problems.

Dr. Hunter’s areas of legal and regulatory expertise include reimbursement and audit disputes with Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE, and commercial insurance companies; employment agreement review and negotiation; contracting with insurers; licensure and disciplinary matters before the various boards of the Department of Health Professions; federal Stark, Anti-Kickback, and False Claim actions and OIG investigations; and health care corporate matters.
