Dr. Huiqin Yang has ten years of research experience in Health Services Research, with considerable expertise and experience in systematic reviews, trial/experimental design and conduct, and quantitative skills in both evidence synthesis and primary data analysis. She has undertaken a range of Health Technology Assessments projects commissioned by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme, including the NICE Multiple Technology Appraisal Project, Single Technology Appraisal Projects, NICE Diagnostic Imaging Technology Assessment Project, and HTA Prognostic Project. These HTA projects covered several clinical areas including cancer and musculoskeletal disorders such as psoriatic arthritis and scoliosis.

Huiqin has considerable expertise in medical decision-making research. Her Ph.D. was a methodological experiment investigating the methodological issues of using conventionally written case simulations to elicit clinicians’ judgments using judgment analysis and calibration methodology, compared with the novel advanced physics simulations. These significantly contribute to the development of methodology in medical decision-making research; specifically, the study design and complex analysis of clinical judgment analysis and calibration research.

Huiqin is a member of the Cochrane Bias Methods Group, the Cochrane Prognostic Methods Group, and the Cochrane Individual Participant Data (IPD) Meta-analysis Methods Group, as well as a member of the Society for Judgment and Decision Making and the European Society for Medical Decision Making.
