Hugo M. Fernandes MBBS (Mon), FRANZCOG, PhD

Dr Hugo Fernandes is an AGES accredited Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon and Gynaecologist with specialist training in Infertility and IVF. He specializes in the treatment of infertility associated with surgical conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, heavy bleeding and uterine fibroids.

Hugo graduated from Monash University in 2003. He undertook his specialist training at Monash Medical Centre with a primary focus on gynaecology, open and laparoscopic surgery including an accredited rotation in Colorectal and General Surgery. He completed his training as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 2011.

Hugo went on to complete a formal two year Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery Fellowship at The Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne and was the first AGES accredited Laparoscopic Fellow. In 2013 he was awarded the prestigious David Healy Memorial AGES Travelling Fellowship and travelled to Europe and the United States for further training.
