Hubert W. Vesper PhD

Hubert W. Vesper is Director of Clinical Standardization Programs and Chief of the Protein Biomarker and Lipid Reference Laboratory, He provides scientific leadership and expertise to identify and effectively address major public health concerns in the areas of human exposure to chemicals and to improve testing for chronic disease. This includes the development, implementation, and oversight of long-term and short-term programs that support the agency’s overall mission and strategic plan.

He represents the organization and programs to public and private organizations and develops and maintains relationships with senior staff at other federal, state, national and international organizations to coordinate research activities. He is a subject matter expert in analytical method development, standardization of analytical tests used in patient care, research, and public health, and has practical experiences in epidemiology, statistics, and risk assessment. He leads and mentors a highly diverse and successful multidisciplinary work unit of researchers, public health scientists, and program and budget analysts.
