Dr. Day is an associate professor of general internal medicine and geriatrics. She has been at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center since 2000. She sees both inpatient and outpatients. She sees patients with a wide variety of problems such as diabetes and hypertension as well as dementia and falls.

Dr. Day is also very involved in the education and career development of future physicians. She teaches regularly at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where she teaches in the medical interviewing, population health, and physical exam courses. She also directs the clinical assessment programs for the medical school. She serves as an advisory dean for many of the medical students annually.

Dr. Day also has an integral role in teaching about interprofessional communication. She serves as the medical school representative to the University of Pittsburgh School of Health Sciences Interprofessional Working Group, planning curriculum, and doing research in the area of interprofessional communication.
