Hiroyuki Sugaya MD

Currently serving as Director of Shoulder & Elbow Center at Funabashi Orthopaedic Hospital, in Funabashi, near Tokyo, Japan. In addition, he serves as a member of Upper Extremity Committee of ISAKOS, International Committee Chair of Japan Shoulder Society and Japanese Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and a corresponding member of the American Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons. He is also supporting various journals such as Journal of Shoulder & Elbow Surgery as an assistant editor, American Journal of Sports medicine, Journal of Orthopaedic Science, and Indian Journal of Orthopaedics as a reviewer. His clinical interests relate to shoulder instability, rotator cuff disease, and shoulder & elbow injuries in athletes. He has published around 50 English and 200 Japanese articles in these fields. He has been an invited guest lecturer at numerous overseas shoulder courses and meetings in North & South America, Europe, Oceania, and Asian countries. Since the year of 2000, over 50 Japanese and overseas shoulder & elbow surgeons completed fellowship program and he has accepted visitation by over 200 surgeons from inside and outside his country.
