Dr. Hilary J. Goldberg is the medical director at the Lung Transplant Program and the physician lead at the Solid Organ Transplant Quality Assurance and Process Improvement Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is also an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.

She received her medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine . She then completed a residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, followed by two fellowships: the first in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and the second in lung transplantation at the University of Minnesota Medical Center . She is board certified in critical care medicine, internal medicine and pulmonary disease.

Dr. Goldberg’s clinical research examines therapeutic interventions in interstitial lung disease and lung transplantation. She is currently a co-investigator on a clinical trial examining the impact of inhaled carbon monoxide on Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), and is the site principal investigator on several pharmaceutical sponsored clinical trials in IPF. She has authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications and is a recipient of funding from the National Institutes of Health.
