Dr. Herbert D. Aronow is the Director of the Comprehensive Vascular Program and Interim Director of the Cardiac and Peripheral Catheterization Laboratories at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Aronow serves as Chair of the American College of Cardiology’s (ACC) Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) Committee and is the Trustee of the Society for Vascular Medicine. He also serves on the PVD Committee at the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention (SCAI) where he is one of 12 International Emerging Leader Mentorship Program Fellows.
Dr. Aronow currently serves as the Chair and Co-Chair of the SCAI Carotid Artery Stenting and Renal Sympathetic Denervation Expert Consensus Document Writing Committees, respectively. In addition to his active participation as a site principal investigator in multiple vascular trials, he is actively involved at the leadership level in many vascular research and quality initiatives. Dr. Aronow is a co-investigator in the international PORTRAIT registry and on the Endomax trial Executive Committee and Clinical Events Committee Chair for the Roadster trial.
He serves on the advisory and writing committees for the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Vascular Interventions Collaborative, as well as on the ACC National Cardiovascular Disease Registry Peripheral Vascular Intervention Transition Workgroup and CARE registry’s Research and Publications Committee. Dr. Aronow has authored more than 60 original articles, editorials, book chapters, and reviews on coronary and peripheral vascular topics and serves as a peer-reviewer for multiple medical journals.
