Dr. Henry (Hank) T. Puls, MD is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. He is board-certified in Pediatrics. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. His Clinical Interests are Health Services, Prevention, Medical Evaluation, Failure to Thrive, Health Services, Asthma, Bronchiolitis, Healthcare Disparities, and Bioethics.
Dr. Puls’ research agenda is to reduce child maltreatment, particularly physical abuse among infants and young children. In pursuit of this goal, he is actively engaged in research investigating public policies and programs with the capacity to improve the well-being of children and families. He is also interested in improving the equitable and accurate identification, reporting, and prevention of child maltreatment in healthcare settings, particularly in which newborn infants might be at the greatest risk for physical abuse.
