Hennie (mh) Botha MBChB, FCOG, MMed, PhD

Prof Hennie Botha started his professional career in a rural hospital in Malawi after which he specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He did further training in the field of Gynaecological Oncology in the UK and is a registered sub-specialist in Gynaecological Oncology. He serves in the Sub-Saharan Africa Cervical Cancer Working Group and the South African HPV Advisory Board. He is the secretary of the SA Society for Gynaecological Oncology. Prof Hennie Botha has a research interest in fertility preservation in female cancer patients and the prevention of cervical cancer. He has authored or co-authored more than 25 articles in journals and is co-editor of the textbook “Clinical Gynaecology”. He is a full-time clinician and teaches under- and post-graduate students. Prof. Botha provides gynaecological oncology care to patients referred to him by his colleagues in private practice.
