Hema Sundaram, M.D., is the founder and Director of Sundaram Dermatology, Cosmetic and Laser Surgery Center. With offices in Rockville, Maryland, and Fairfax, Virginia, Dr. Sundaram’s private practice caters to anyone wanting to look and feel better. Using a unique make-over approach that combines holistic techniques and state-of-the-art technologies, Dr. Hema Sundaram helps her patients feel more youthful.

Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, Inc., Dr. Hema Sundaram possesses years of education, training, and experience in surgical and non-invasive cosmetic and dermatological procedures. In 1985, she graduated with honors from the University of Cambridge in England with a Bachelor of Arts in Genetics. Continuing her education, Dr. Hema Sundaram went on to earn a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Cambridge in 1989. Beginning her postgraduate training with a yearlong rotating internship in medicine and surgery at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital and The Royal London Hospital in England, Dr. Sundaram moved to the United States to complete an internship in internal medicine and a postdoctoral research fellowship in molecular biology at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. Additionally, she fulfilled a dermatology residency at the University of Chicago and a medical staff fellowship with the National Institutes of Health (NIH). After completing her formal education, she opened her practice in Maryland in 1995. She added the office in Virginia in 1999.
